The training camp darlings also have a 4th factor, imo. ‘Customer buy-in’. When there is a player that a fan can say is ‘overlooked’, etc. and then that player shows flashes… a fan can feel like they were there from the beginning. I remember that the most vociferous Batch fans were those that had started pounding the drum early.
