That’s what I always hope for, even knowing it’s unrealistic to think they can assemble an entire team of truly good guys. It would be interesting to break down an entire draft, long enough after the event to know how they all turned out, and see who looked like “high character” guys, who didn’t, where they went, and what sort of men and players they turned out to be. Unfortunately there are only 24 hours in a given day. I might try it anyhow, though, just picking my way through as I have time. The main problem is getting enough information on the ones who don’t pan out…

As much as I like Kelvin Beachum, I really wonder whether Villanueva is likely to prevent Beachum from getting a second contract here. Whichever way it goes, Beachum will almost certainly earn a nice one.

From what I saw in the Hall of Fame game I think he’ll make the team and rather easily at that. My guess is that, all things considered, he has the potential to be a great asset both on and off the field.

I think, barring injury, he will. Everything I read is extremely positive about the training camp he is having and the work he’s done in the off-season.
