Welcome! I thought Bruce Arians landed in a good place, and as you say it was probably a good thing for all parties in the end, although when Arians was cut (or not renewed or whatever) I thought he got a raw deal.

And you are correct – BTSC was Michael Bean’s site, and was bought up or however it worked by SB Nation. It was either just before or just after that I discovered it.

I apologize for digging up an old story, but I just found you guys thanks to SteelerFever’s link posted on the Tomlin game management story. I commented maybe 5 times, but was a reader of BTSC since almost the beginning. I may be wrong, but I don’t even think it was part of SB Nation back then. I’m glad you’re here.

Back on topic. I live in Phoenix, and while I’m glad the Steelers have Todd Hailey, I get to hear a lot of Bruce Arians. I’m glad he’s here. It looks like everything worked out well for all parties involved. I’ve heard several interviews with him in the last couple of weeks where he talks about how tough these cuts are, not just for the players, but for the coaches as well. You get to know these guys for months, come to appreciate all the effort and desire they show, then you have to let them go.

Safety is tough. Golden, Ventrone, Wild, Darby, Holliman. You can keep 1, maybe 2. I love Wild, but he will be tough to keep.

Hello Rebecca, we haven’t met, but I have been following BTSC since the Michael Bean days and very much enjoyed your work there. I have missed your unique perspective and personal touch and was very happy to find your present venue. Will be looking forward to reading many more of your contributions in the future. David Nelson. (He’s on IR, and I’m hoping the Steelers keep him there.) Not for anything he’s done – he was hurt in his first practice – but for who he is.
Alejandro Villanueva. I don’t think there’s any chance of that, though, with Mike Adams out.
B.J. Finney – just because you’ve got to love a kid who wants it that badly.
Tyler Murphy. He’s worked his butt off to excel in something that isn’t even his position.
Ian Wild has really intrigued me, and I would hate to see him go.
And, as they say in garage sale ads, too many more to mention.

I’m just really glad it isn’t my job to decide. Not only do you have to make what are probably agonizing decisions in some cases but you know you are going to be second-guessed by everyone ever.
