As Roxanna Firehall noted in his post, The Good Guys—My Favorite Steelers Running Backs, Rocky Bleier was not only a veteran but was severely wounded. Do check out the post if you […]

I am really happy you picked Baron to include—he’s a truly solid human being. I always had a soft spot for Isaac Redman, but unfortunately most of his accomplishments were fictional feats of legerdemain from the old days of BTSC. Bell is a no-brainer for future roundups such as this unless something goes badly wrong. I’ve never seen anyone run like he does. My husband even notices, and that’s amazing : )

I will say I love love love DeAngelo Williams, at least thus far, for his unselfish attitude, his studliness while Le’Veon was out, and his heart of service in re breast cancer. Great kid.

So much so that I could not leave him off. I picked four so it would be hard and it was. I thought of not only Bell, but Deangelo Williams. I love that guy.

Homer, if you can hear me drop a Franco story or two on us. I have beer and I’m not afraid to use it!

I thought about making Franco and Rocky co-number ones, but, in the end, the Rock got me with the meeting I described.

What a pleasant surprise to be wrong.

I don’t recall rooting harder for anyone to make the team at the time. I wouldn’t learn until recently that we have tragedy in common in that I lost my mother to ravages of MS when I barely turned 20.

If you bought Homer J a beer (or not) I think he would be be happy to share some Franco stories. One of my favorites is that during his rookie season he would be spotted outside of Three Rivers Stadium after games hitchhiking because he didn’t own a car.

Spotted Rocky at an autograph event about seven miles from my home. It was just like you described it. Heart of gold I think.

We may be able to add Le’Veon Bell to the list someday. Remember he is the son of Steelers fans. That and his extraordinary talent.. Let’s keep an eye on that.

Excellent idea btw.
