From the Steelers perspective, Alejandro will have had two more weeks to work on his technique but I worry that Ben will be rusty again after having had a week off. There are a lot of guys with bumps and bruises (i.e. Shazier) who will benefit from the rest.

Seattle seems to be a team with the needle pointing up, a solid defence and an offence that seems to be adjusting to the lost of their biggest weapon. The crown noise shouldn’t bother the more experienced vets as much as the youngsters but I still think the Steelers will have a hard time of it if they don’t jump out to a quick lead and keep it.

The bit about the importance of the Steelers injuries was very interesting. It looks like verification of what a lot of their fans have been thinking in terms of the injuries the team has suffered and how well the team has adjusted and coped. The coaching staff, the front office and the players who are still standing (and maybe a few of the fallen as well) deserve a lot of credit for the team still being in the hunt.

I think this game is too close to call. It may well come down to how well Martavis plays. If he can play near or up to the level of AB then the Steelers win. Of course key injuries could change everything, one way or the other.
