I will definitely read the Palermo story. Thanks, Homer.

I thought part of the nickname Hollywood Bags had to do with the shoes, which were dyed and prepared by Bucky Palermo, the Lawenceville shoe repair guy and Studio Wrestling referee. Bucky is a civic treasure, who is retiring this month at age 85 or 86. Gene Collier did a wonderful feature story on Bucky last week in the Post-Gazette, and it is definitely, definitely worth a read.

Before the Steelers, LC and Ernie Holmes had never had a white teammate. Terry Bradshaw had never had a black teammate. God bless the Chief, Dan, and Chuck Noll who were all color blind at a time when it was absolutely unusual.

You would think this would be a place where a strict meritocracy would reign. I love the story about Dwight White and the Chief.
