I will be addressing the flags or lack thereof for both teams for Sunday’s game in tomorrow’s post. I would love it if you would check it out and tell me whether you think I was at least reasonably fair. It’s hard for me not to see things with Steeler-colored glasses. Of course, yours might also have a slightly orange-striped tinge to them. That’s what makes us fans instead of cynical, grizzled beat writers, I suppose.

The Steelers fans respond by stating that the Steelers are the least-penalized team in the league. Thank you Steelers fans, you prove our point for us. – A Bengals fan.

Another troubled Cincy player, Chris Henry, was discovered to have extensive CTE when he died. Whether this can be blamed for his behavior, or potentially Burfict and Jones, is unknown. But in the case of particularly Burfict, he needs to be removed from having the ability to hurt other people until they figure out what is up with him and whether it is fixable. Three games is a slap on the wrist, particularly when ol’ Rog will probably reduce it to one…

The Bengals are, IIRC, always under the salary cap, and apparently their practice facilities were a disgrace for years. If you’re right, Lewis probably didn’t get fired because a) he didn’t want the expense of a search for a new coach and b) a different coach might not be so enthusiastic about all the cheese-paring…

Yes, the head ref was the same, but the rest of the crew was likely different. Doesn’t make it right, of course. There is no way that the same head ref should have been back. Maybe the league figure that since he had just done the last game, he’d be a little more prepared to handle things, or quicker on the trigger.

The world knows how frugal he is. It would make sense if he took in a larger percentage of players that may not find homes on other teams because he can get them cheap. No doubt, they have some absolute blue chip talent on the team. Perhaps the gamble on Jones was based more on the fact that he was cheap than it was that he’s a talented player. Same thing for Burfict. Absolute beast of a linebacker. If he played like a man, I bet many teams would love to have him. I am not familiar enough with their roster to make any further examples, but it’s just a thought.

All he kept replying was “I don’t know”. It was like watching someone who was in total denial trying to deflect people. I have seen something similar when a kid with FAE and anxiety issues was being asked why they had done something they knew they shouldn’t have done. I saw a person who didn’t have the emotional strength to deal with the situation for which they were responsible.
