Hopefully The Last Unsolicited Testimonial You Will Have to Ignore…
In keeping with the Sunday music post theme, I would like to throw out a plug for the final concert series of my tenure as Artistic Director of The Pittsburgh Camerata. I have been doing this for the past 18 years, and I believe it is the right time for all concerned for new leadership.
The concerts are this coming Saturday in Highland Park, 8 pm, and next Sunday afternoon at Heinz Chapel in Oakland. The program is some of my very favorite choral music. I would love to see you there if you think you can bear it.
For more information, and to access a fancy web program with information about the music and the composers, click here. Search as you may, though, I don’t think you will find a single bit of football-related information. Sorry about that.
Eighteen years is a very long period of time to hold the same job. Have you given much thought about what you will be doing next? Maybe Steelers.com could you a writer to write some in depth pieces for them. You and Ivan make a great team.

Thanks, COSF. I have some ideas, but nothing set in stone yet. I’m looking to get more involved than I’ve had the time to be in some sort of human trafficking outreach. My mom is 85 and I’m not sure how much longer she will recognize me. And I have 1- 1/2 grandchildren, all of whom live a long way away. So I have some visiting to do before I start sorting out the next phase of my life…

My mom would take the grands to the beach with her for a couple of weeks every summer. She would only take one at a time and each kid was able to go for a couple of years before it was the next one’s turn. The kids loved it and my mom did as well. Sadly she was too old to do it for my boys.
A friend in the Twin Cities has a different approach but she is able to see her grands more regularly. She takes them on trips with her. The latest got to visit Washington D.C..
Best of luck with the visiting thing. Remember, and make certain your kids understand, your job as a grandmother is to spoil the grandkids rotten. It is their parents job to straighten them out after. Everyone needs someone in their life that loves them for themselves without any riders or qualifiers.

Enjoy your final concerts. If there’s anything better than Steeler football, it’s music. I’m sure you have many interests. I’ve never been so busy as I have since I retired. It’s a nice busy.
