As far as JJ is concerned, the light should have come on for him last year and you are correct. He doesnt have forever. Just the rest of his career which will be short. Reminds me of when I was at Airborne school. One of my fellow students asked how long we had to deploy our reserve parachute. The Blackhat (instructor) replied “the rest of your life Airborne!”

I don’t think he lacks a decent enough skill set, but judging from what we saw from him at camp, it brought to mind a qb from Tennessee whose name eludes me at the moment. When MIke Ditka was asked why he had him sidelined the response was something along the lines of things were going too fast for him out there. He eventually went on to serve in Congress (there’s a setup for anyone who wants to take it). Its possible the light could still go on for Jones, but he doesn’t have forever.
