And I hope you’re right, but this is what Gene Collier of the PG had to say yesterday:

“Two weeks into the season, this wicked truth looms as self-evident: The Eagles are destroying people. On Monday night, they sent a sleuth of Bears limping and wobbling to the sideline, concussing safety Adrian Amos, concussing cornerback Bryce Callahan, battering the legs of nose tackle Eddie Goldman and outside linebacker Lamarr Houston (who, OK, once injured himself celebrating a sack), and mangling the throwing hand of Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.”

So it is especially imperative that the refs watch out for cheap hits…

Not just this season but I think he is a the point in his career when he may not recover from another serious physical setback. When teams realize they can take him out of games with cheap hits, those hits are going to keep coming till he is out of the game.

My biggest fear is that refs seem to be overlooking cheap hits against Ben this season and the lack of a fine for a crown of the helmet to Ben’s throwing shoulder last game seems to indicate the league is okay with this as well.

As for the Eagles themselves, the Steelers should win but I must admit I am impressed by what I have seem from Wentz so far and if the Eagles manage to ding up Ben too much, I think Wentz is capable of carrying his team to a win.

I still remember the debacle in 2008… That said this is a different team and most importantly, a different o line. The qb that should really be worrying about getting injured is Wentz. I watched the cutup of every throw of his against the bears, and he is taking too many chances not sliding. He was making some pretty good throws and decisions, but butler also has some tape to go off of at this point… Stillers by 14.

Can’t say i put RGIII’s injury on the eagles defense. He was going out of bounds and decided to put a shoulder into a defender rather than, you know, protect himself and get his butt out of bounds. I actually saw that play and when he did that i just laughed and thought to myself, “what an idiot”.
