If he had been here from the start, the team would likely have settled into again giving him 90% or so of the snaps. Maybe less, but not dramatically. Now, Connor will get lots of carries early, hopefully show very well, and when Bell gets back they will use both more. Then as we get towards the end of the season, a fresher and hopefully much healthier Bell is ready to run roughshod through the playoffs.

Also I concur with the old Canuck above me, these are troubling times indeed.

I feel the same this year.

Yes, it would have been nice to have a willing Bell to lead the RB corps but that is not going to happen. He may show up eventually but i don’t expect him to carry as much of the load as he has in the past.

I do like the potential shown by some folks who will not get much playing time this year (assuming things go well) and I was sad there wasn’t enough room on the p.s. for some who flashed during the pre-season (who was that defensive lineman who did such a nice job on that one stunt… he cleared out the middle of the o-line so his partner could just waltz into the back field. Smart play and well executed). Lots of camp phenoms this year. Says a lot for the scouting department and Colbert.

Officiating is out of the team’s hands but it was a big factor in some games last season. It was bad enough at times that I was no longer wondering if it was shear incompetence. The rulings from New York sometimes had an air of, if not collusion then at least, preference about them. I have stated before that I didn’t like the WWE. The NFL is on thin ice.

Last article, Momma mentioned that she and Ivan (and perhaps other contributors) had another distraction. If they have decided to use their considerable communication skills to help deal with another more pressing problem then I must heartily commend them. These are troubling times.
