Thank you, j-man. Am so happy to hear from you. Stay safe and be well, my friend. Even though we have never met, we love you and your family very much.

I didn’t know Ivan nearly as well as you, but I also first encountered him at BTSC and was privileged to watch a handful of games with him. That was always a thoughtful, wide-ranging experience. I will miss him (and in accordance with my religious tradition, am praying for his soul for the 40 days after his repose). Memory eternal, Ivan!

I never met him or spoke with him, but as one of the ones in those early BTSC days who felt like he had found a home on a website where things like dignity, respect, intelligence, and kindness were at least as important as hot takes and fanaticism, I felt like I came to know him in some small way. I am grateful for that, and for these tributes that you, and Homer J and Bean have written. I am both saddened by the loss, for the world’s sake, and inspired to continue to be a voice for dignity, respect, diversity, inclusion, and love, in a way that leaves a legacy like Ivan has. Love to you all, from greg milinovich (who was agentorange back on btsc).

The three of us couldn’t be much more different, but that was part of the magic that Ivan brought into the world. He was all about what we all have in common, rather than what divides us. Ivan was about respect for one another, about dignity, and about trying to understand – even when understanding may be difficult. He was as gentle, caring, and giving as anyone I have ever had the honor of knowing. And I miss him more each day. But as I mourn him, I am comforted with the knowledge that we mourn because we have been given a great gift – a person we loved, who has now gone to his rest. In my sadness, I can rejoice that Ivan Cole was part of my life, added richness and joy to my life, and absolutely made me a better person. RIP.

I assumed it had become the victim of competing obligations. I fondly remember Homer J. , who made me laugh out loud, Ivan who was so brilliant and made me think, and Rebecca the thoughtful New Mexico transplant.
Rest In Peace Ivan. I am grateful I got to experience a sliver of you through your writing.

Ivan was a person that I wish I had met. His articles were a highlight for me among the drivel and bickering that prevails in fan sites. My condolences to his family and friends.
Thank you, Rebecca.
